The TOCON_E1 from SGLUX GmbH is a high-accuracy UV Index photodetector designed for precise measurement of erythemally effective ultraviolet radiation (UV Index) according to the ISO 17166:2019 / CIE S 007/E-1998 standard.
It combines a silicon carbide (SiC) photodiode with an erythema-weighted optical filter and a built-in low-noise transimpedance amplifier that produces a linear 0–5 V DC output proportional to the measured UV irradiance.
Covering a spectral range of 250 – 400 nm, the TOCON_E1 simulates the human skin sensitivity to UV exposure and is ideal for solar monitoring, weather stations, dermatological research, and UV safety systems.
Factory-calibrated and traceable to NIST / PTB standards, it ensures reproducible, globally comparable results.
Compact, robust, and maintenance-free, the TOCON_E1 guarantees reliable long-term UV Index measurements under both natural sunlight and artificial UV sources.

The TOCON_E1 photodetector uses a solar-blind silicon carbide (SiC) photodiode equipped with a precision erythema weighting filter, mimicking the CIE erythema action spectrum.
Its integrated transimpedance amplifier outputs a stable 0–5 V signal directly proportional to the UV Index, enabling direct connection to SGLUX SENSOR MONITOR 5.0, data loggers, or environmental controllers.
The detector provides fast response (<1 s), low drift, and excellent spectral accuracy, ensuring reliable readings for continuous monitoring of solar UV radiation or artificial UV sources.
Traceable factory calibration (NIST/PTB) guarantees repeatable and standardised measurements for environmental, dermatological, and safety applications.
